Mr. Junius K Y Ho, Senior Partner of Hong Kong law firm Messrs. K C Ho & Fong, and a former President of the Law Society of Hong Kong announced today the establishment of a new international organization – International Probono Legal Services Association Limited (IPLSA), a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong; and the launch of a pro bono legal services scheme aiming at providing free legal advisory services to individuals, businesses and NGOs in need of such service in Hong Kong and in other jurisdictions. The Founder of the IPLSA, Mr. Junius Ho said, “The prime objective of setting up IPLSA is to ensure access to justice for all through provision of pro bono legal services, and to foster a greater sense of commitment among young lawyers to serve the community through provision of such services.” Mr. Ho also said: “IPLSA also serves as an platform through which lawyers particularly young lawyers from different jurisdictions may share legal expertise among themselves and the public by delivering pro bono legal services to the mass. Membership of IPLSA is free and opened to legal practitioners, paralegals and law students from different jurisdictions.” To commemorate the establishment of IPLSA, an inauguration ceremony cum forum is scheduled for 7 December 2018 in Hong Kong.
