National Judges College and International Probono Legal Services Association and Signed Cooperation Agreement

20 Oct 2018

On October 20, 2018, the National Judges College and the International Probono Legal Services Association (IPLSA) signed a cooperation framework agreement in Hong Kong to organize training courses for Hong Kong lawyers to enhance their understanding of the national judicial system. Dr. Huang Wenjun, Dean of the National Judges College and Mr. Junius Ho, the founder of IPLSA, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. Senior Consultants of IPLSA, Dr. Priscilla Leung and Dr. David Lan, and members of the IPLSA Board of Directors also attended the signing ceremony.

The signing of the cooperation agreement represents a milestone in IPLSA’s work since its establishment this June, and is a significant move for achieving IPLSA’s mission of promoting access to justice for all through provision of pro bono legal services, engaging lawyers in different regions to provide cross-jurisdictional pro bono legal services, and encouraging young lawyers in Hong Kong actively participating in community service.

Following the signing of the cooperation agreement, National Judges College and IPLSA will jointly host training courses and other professional exchange programmes for young lawyers in Hong Kong.
