On February 14, 2025, a delegation from the International Probono Legal Services Association (IPLSA) visited the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Hong Kong. Consul General Mr. YOS Sokhemrin warmly welcomed the members of the IPLSA delegation.
After listening to the introduction by IPLSA founder Lawyer Ho Koon Yiu, Consul General YOS expressed appreciation for IPLSA's work in public legal service exchanges, national security education, and participation in overseas affairs. Additionally, he introduced the rich cultural heritage and tourism resources of Cambodia to the IPLSA delegation.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to work together to establish a bridge between Cambodia and the Hong Kong-Macau region, fully utilizing Hong Kong's position as a center for international law and dispute resolution services, an international trade center, and a hub for cultural and artistic exchanges. They reached a consensus on the following matters:
1.Strengthening communication in the legal industry between Cambodia and the Hong Kong-Macau region to promote public legal services;
2.Promoting Hong Kong's arbitration and mediation services as important means to resolve commercial disputes between the two regions, establishing dispute resolution mechanisms for multinational enterprises;
3.Promoting cooperation in tourism, commerce, law, finance, and other areas to enhance cultural exchanges and support high-quality economic development in both regions.
IPLSA plans to visit Cambodia in the future, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen connections with Cambodia and other ASEAN countries to promote mutual development.
